2012 48 volt wiring lights
been trying to put a light kit on a 2012 TXT the kit takes 16 volts which batteries and terminals should I use, I have tried 3 and 4 and I have 16 volts on my meter but no lights, I can disconnect the cables and make lights work on 8 volts from either battery but hook up the cables and no lights.

Re: 2012 48 volt wiring lights
Originally my 36v txt was getting 12v from #5+ and #6-. That's how it came from ezgo to get the 12v for the fuse panel. Assuming you have 6x8v, you should get 16v from the same setup I was getting 12.
FYI-most guys will tell you to use a separate battery or a reducer. Apparently it's not good for the pack to be running accessories off of just two batteries. |

Re: 2012 48 volt wiring lights
That's correct, ideally you want to use a 48v to 12v reducer to draw evenly from the battery pack because it weakens the two batteries faster
