Western 300 stalls then starts again after 10-15 min
Hi Guys ! I just picked up what i believe is a 1990 Western Golf & Country. Correct me if i'm wrong but aren't the western carts made by Ezgo ? I was told the chassis and wiring are the same..The vin shows it is a 300 series made in june 1990 or 2000 ( think it a 1990 ) i have installed new batterys , cables , ignition switch , and solenoid...checked all the connections ( taken apart , cleaned and retightened )...Cart runs very well but after 15-20 minutes of cruising 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it just stalls.....after it sits from 5-15 minutes it starts going again with no problems for another 15-20 minutes , then the same issue...Do you Think i may have a bad speed controller ? Im a mechanic by trade but new to electric carts...Thanks..JD

Gonna guess its a 42 volt cart? 7, six volt batteries.
What they did was just use 36 volt parts. Sounds like the controller is going into thermal shut down. They now have controllers that are 48 volt. An upgrade to that should cure your issue. |

Sorry , it's a 36 Volt cart. 6 X 6 volt batteries
