99 txt goes without me asking it to
I have a 99 txt which I have upgraded to 48 volts, 500 amp controller, upgraded solenoid, etc. Been working fine for over a year and I go out there today to bring it through the mud and it starts rolling without me pushing the pedal in both forward and reverse. Any ideas where to go from here?

Phil, let these guys know which drive system you have and they'll be better able to help. While you're waiting for the experts, moisture in the throttle box in the floor is a potential cause I have read here. And, the molex plug (pretty sure it's a four wire plug) gets corroded and causes throttle issues. IIRC You can find that plug in the area going to your controller.

Re: 99 txt goes without me asking it to
My apologies. I thought I had added enough info. It's a series cart also with a torque motor. There is a 4 plug something somewhere and like I said, it's been running perfectly for over a year. Something leads me to believe it's either the solenoid or the throttle system. Not sure if either would still work beyond the 5 mph idle. So it'll idle at 5 ish, then I can drive it completely normal but if I want to stop I either put it in neutral or stand on the brakes

Sounds like a welded solenoid.

So if the solenoid still clicks, could that still be the case?

Re: 99 txt goes without me asking it to
You didn't say, but I'm assuming it goes the instant you turn the key?
I'd disconnect the 4 wire Molex connector and check continuity on the throttle box microswitch. If you have continuity even when not pressing the throttle, then that's where your problem is. Clean the Molex connector with contact cleaner and open up the throttle box and clean/dry if necessary. You may have to replace the microswitch. Series carts are easy to diagnose. You have a series of switches that ALL have to open and close, in order for the solenoid activation to work properly. If you haven't already done so, download a wiring diagram from the stickies. It should show the wire colors for the 4 wires from the throttle box. |

Well, Maybe the go pedal is not returning to zero and everything else is working as it should. Check the pedal return spring
