Default Tire suggestion for lifted cart?

I'm looking for the best of both worlds...speed, road handling, and offroad (mostly turf or mulch) performance. I'm currently running 22" low pressure offroad tires. They look cool but I suspect they are greatly reducing my top speed and requiring more torque than I currently have to lose. They also tend to "float". Either that or my steering is shot.

So...without breaking the bank, what's a guy to do? As a side note, I do plan to upgrade the controller, cables, solenoid, and f/r switch as many of you guys have. Will go with Scottyb's recommendation on that (Altrax SR48500, etc.).

Cart is a 98 txt series. Lift, HD leafs in the rear, flip flop rear seat. I currently get somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-13 mph based on my wife following me in the car.

I have a 98TXT, I have done the alltrax upgrade, FSIP MOT B3 motor, 4" lift 22" tires, 2 gauge wires and 36 to 48 conversion. I hit about 29 mph and low 20's on hills. I run an all terrain tires..they are a little noisy but with the stabilizer bar in the front, there is no float. I did have street tires before my lift at about 18.5 inches or so and I was hitting 19-20 mph with just a controller upgrade. Sorry if im all over the place, just got off a plane from being out of the country and I am very sleep deprived at the moment.

Welcome home! Thanks for the input. That sounds like exactly where I am headed. I really don't need (or necessarily want) to hit anything over 20 mph but it is nice to know it is possible.

No need to write back tonight, but when you're awake, what stabilizer bar did you use?

I used this one
://m.buggiesunlimitedcom/golf-cart/e-z-go-medalist-txt-steering-stabilizer-kit-(fits-19945-20015)/29490

However I don't recommend buying from this place, perhaps you can find elsewhere.. took me 5 weeks to get a refund on merchandise I never received.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear your experience. I've ordered a few things from them without issue. I received one item that was clearly damaged during shipping but after a call they sent a new one without question.

Good to know. It sounds like scottyb is the guy to go to for driveline and power supply, so where do you go for tires, wheels, suspension, accessories, etc?
