Default Magnetic oil drain plug?

I just replaced the bearings and seals in a 96 ezgo 36V txt cart. When up on jack stands I run the motor slowly and get a little "clunking," but have figured this is the slack in the spider gears. Pulled the cover and everything looks clean, but a few tiny metal particles in the bottom of the pan. I hope this is the right assumption as I can turn the input shaft with my thumb and finger and the axels spin smoothly.

Is there a magnetic gasket to help collect these, or not worth it?

I just silicone glue a magnet inside the pan, it's quite effective. Glue it down low where it will be in the oil when cart is stopped. It will pull suspended stuff out of the oil. Yamaha has a magnet in their axle pans now days. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. I have also put magnets in drain plugs by drilling & sticking a magnet in the plug too. The car manufacturers have been tossing a magnet in the transmission pan for ages now (they don't use any glue, just stuck in the pan).

CGTech is right on. Your car/truck/minivan/whatever has a magnet in the transmission pan and oil pan for the same reason. If it pulls any metal out of the oil then that's less to get caught in your seals and it won't get into your bearings/bushings/gears and create more metal shavings.

The less metallic grit in your oil the better.

I just pulled the tranny pan off the wife's Toyota minivan. There were two magnets in there, just stuck to the pan as CG stated. Both had a layer of magnetic sludge stuck to them, keeping that metal out of the oil.

I bought a magnetic plug on ebay 14mm 1.5 for my club car. I got the only two shown 14mm 1.25 and 1.5 not knowing the size got one of each $1.75 each. 1.5 fit perfect. https://www.ebay.com/itm/M14-x-1-5MM...72.m2749.l2649
