Default Replacing batteries today need opinion

I have eight 6v batts that are less than a year old, Powertron P2000 is what I currently have, however I'm looking to free up some space and weight and was thinking about 4 12v or 6 8v batteries. I have read the discussions on run times between those but I am really wondering which of the three battery models I should go with. This is one local shop I have never used but seem to have decent prices. Do these prices look fair? Also I can't find any info on Trojan Black batteries and I was leaning towards them.

If you are really wanting to throw money away, why go half way? Lithium will save you a ton of space and weight.

The black batteries are what we winemakers call a "second label". It is not good enough to risk putting our primary label on it but we know we still can make money off of it.

jhop869986 I believe those prices are pretty good. but I speak specifically for the U.S. Battery 8V....as I bought a set last week. and I had to pay $128/ea. (set was $856.03) that's the going price for my area.

I would love to go lithium but when I look at lithium options it starts looking like French to me so I'm having a hard time figuring out what I need.

I'm really not sure what your logic is behind replacing batteries that are less than a year old in order to save several pounds and gain a few cubic inches of unusable space. Honestly, that is to what it will amount. To me, this is a pointless waste of money, time and effort.

If it is as you say and you want to save weight and gain usable space, Lithium is the only path. If your current batteries are working as they should, what harm can come from waiting while you educate yourself on Lithium?

If that money in your pocket is too hot to handle, why not upgrade something else that will net you real gains in performance like motor, controller and cables? That is assuming you haven't already.

I have alltrax xct controller, solenoid, 2 gauge cables, FSIP MOT B3 motor.. lift.. wheels.. the whole 9 yards. Currently have 8 batteries under the seat and I have no room for cable management and the controller and 12v reducer are crammed in there, this personally drives me insane as I have OCD issues. So yes not to be a smarty pants.. I am willing to get rid of my 6 month old batteries to solve the room and weight issue. Freeing up the small gaps on either end of my tray would make me happy. I also feel a little unsafe having two batteries not safely secured like the rest.

Looking at EV Battery, looks like they are out of stock and I think they have been for awhile...are there any other vendor options out there in the same price range that they offer? Ill pull the trigger on this today if so

I think those prices are really good considering I'm right down the road from you. I'm outside of Raleigh and paid $109 each for my US Battery 8V batteries last year.

I guess I am going to pull the trigger on the Lithium pack as soon as they are back in stock at EV Battery Center
