Default 8 volt charging from zero?

It's a 48 volt cart that one battery blew up due to poor maintenance apparently. I have the replacement for the one that almost launched the passenger out of his seat but two of the batteries are low reading around 1.5 volts . I have all the batteries out of the cart and have cleaned and added water to them all . I would have to say that they were all empty by the way. I have two cheep harbor freight 6 / 12 volt chargers that the green light comes on when I hook it to the batteries that show a charge over 5 volts but does nothing that says its doing anything to the batteries with 1.5 volts. Any ideas ? I sure would appreciate it.

Replace them all. Those empty batteries are the reason why one blew up. The separator between the plates deteriorated and the + and - touched which caused a big spark.

You don't think anybody in here would let you blow up the neighborhood do you? LOL.

You will have it up and running in no time. Good luck with it!

My next Question was going to be , Why the hell are number one and number two battery showing no charge but the rest holding at 8 volts? and now the answer to why my 12 volt charger was not recognizing them.... I think that you guys just may be the only people that can understand just how much smarter than all my real friends are after knowing all this new ****!
