Default 2009 TXT runs slow only

I just purchased a 2009 36V EZGO TXT PDS, It had a new FSIP 36VTORQUEEZ motor installed but it will only run about 7 mph. The batteries are 1 year old Trojans and are in good shape. I am hoping for an easy solution but any help or thoughts is appreciated.

Since you have an aftermarket motor, we can safely assume you have an aftermarket controller. Please list the full specs of your cart.

List the controller type, and model.
Cart type, Sepex or Series
Voltage of the individual batteries written to the 2nd digit after the decimal (ex 6.37)

Thanks!

Okay, Here's the deal. Now I know why I got a great deal. It has a new FSPI (36VTORQUEEZ) but it has the stock controller. Well I called FSPI and they said I had to have their controller. So my options are buy their controller for over $600 or buy a new EZGO motor for $450. Are these really my only options? I'm thinking I should bite the bullet and buy a new EZGO high speed motor because even with a new FSPI controller it would only go 15 mph.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you should talk with Scottyb on this forum. I'm not sure what you mean by an ezgo high speed motor, with a stock controller I don't think there is such a thing.

You can get a more than capable controller and solenoid package for $500 from Scottyb and it would work with that FSIP motor.

That is a torque motor, not built for speed. However, a stock motor will not go any faster than this motor.

Sumthin' aint right.
What's the state of the batteries? Voltage readings - fully charged what is the pack reading?
Stock wheels and gearing?
High torque or not it seems hard to believe a fully charged pack will only spin a 36 volt motor to 7 mph with the stock controller on a stock cart.
Get with Scotty before you go looking to change the motor. You may be half way there and an Alltrax controller away from a good ride.

ARKSoft84.....in his first post.....very first sentence.....he states "I just purchased a 2009 36V EZGO TXT PDS"

thus he has a SEPEX drive system.

The back up alarm was disconnected when I bought the cart. I reconnected the terminals and ran the fault code. It came back showing a speed sensor fault which makes all the sense in the world because the stock sensor was just hanging next to the motor and the sensor on the end of the motor is not even connected to anything. It has a three pin male connector just hanging out not connected. That brings me to either motor to match my controller or controller to match my motor. I plan on using the cart just to run around our community so the high torque is not as important as speed to me. But I'm fine with 15-20 mph if I can make it happen on the cheap. Thanks again for all of your help! As you can tell I'm really new to this as this is my first cart. Cheers!

Yes... It would help for me to pay a bit more attention. No more speed reading.

Can you put the speed sensor in that motor? I'm fairly certain you will need a speed sensor for the alltrax controller.

I have no idea what the top speed would be on that motor. However stock motor stock controller stock wheels is 12-15mph

If you weren't so far away, Ive got 3 stock motors in the garage. Could at least tell what the cart could do in stock.

It's got brand new 205/65-10 tires on it so it would probably run a little faster. I just sent Scotty a email with all of the specs hoping for a inexpensive solution. Either way I feel I got a good deal. As I said earlier it is a 2009 TXT PDS that came with one year old Trojan batteries, brand new 10" wheels and tires, brand new in the box back seat, brand new front seat, brand new in the box windshield, brand new in the box rearview mirror, new shocks, new charger and the less than a year old FSPI high torque motor that has never ran more than 7 mph...LOL! All of this for $1400! I think I did okay,
