Default 8 month old Batteries not lasting long

I had some new batteries put in my 2003 EZGO earlier this year and was expecting more out of them. I can ride about 4 or 5 miles and the charge will show at halfway which really isn't halfway because it seems once batteries get to half charge they start dying quicker. Is this normal battery performance? is their other things I could check on the golf cart that may be running them down? I don't have a radio or any electronics other than regular lights.

Maybe it's the charger. Plug charger into cart with dvm see how high the charger is charging your battery pack. This could take awhile but keep a close eye on it and see how high it's charging your pack.

If you can borrow a charger see if that makes a difference. Remember let the charger fully charge the pack. Let it shut off on it's own.

Batteries may not be getting a full charge, which would indicate possible charger problems. You could have a bad cell in one battery, which would make the whole pack look bad. You will need to acquire a digital voltmeter to do some "detective" work here. Please post your pack voltage and the model of charger you use for more help. I'm sure you will get a lot of help here from many of our knowledgeable members. Good luck - RAY
