Seat rebuild...... need some help
The last thing I have to do on my Rebuild is the seats. The plywood is rotted to the point that I can't use the old one for a template. Does anyone have the measurements for making a new plywood base? Thanks

I think I may be able to use this one. It's not as bad as I thought.

Little weathered. But indeed it doesn't look horrible.
The one I have that needs replacing.. it is crumbled everywhere. |

well it looks good enough that you can make a templet to make a new bottom.

Re: Seat rebuild...... need some help
Slightly off topic, but is there some sort of cover or plastic for the back of the seat back? The cart I bought had the seats recovered but it was done half *** and the wood is exposed and you can see all the staples.
Thanks |

Thanks Nuke. That's what I meant. I used it for a template to make a new one. Just have to cover it now. Just need to drill holes then work on the new covers. My first time doing them so we'll see. Been watching YouTube Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Dixie Chopper..... I know that the hinge plates are just SCREWED onto the wood.....but the handles have a metal insert for a bolt. not sure where to get those, but certainly someone here has had to find those before.....
BTW.....nice looking job making the bottom! |

Thank you sir! Yeah I think they're called T-nuts. They bite into the opposite side of the wood and allow you to put a bolt through. Just can't leave any extra sticking out the other side or you'll get a surprise when you sit on the seat..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
