Battery maintenance
Hey gang. '13 EZ GO txt 48v. I'm looking for some advice on the best battery maintenance practices. Is it best to keep it plugged in to all times when not in use, even if it hasn't been used much since taking it off the charger? Is it better to discharge them more from time to time? I'd appreciate any advice you guys can offer.

Re: Battery maintenance
Keep em clean. Keep the state of charge as high as is practical. Charge often. Some disagree with the following (all conventional knowledge says otherwise), but I feel it is beneficial to run them down pretty low once or twice a year. I am basing this on my experience with discharge testing many battery sets over the years. And having the score increase the second and third tests. The machine draws them down to 20%.

Re: Battery maintenance
OK thanks. I just found out my batteries are Trojan 875s 8v. Any input on how long they will last?

Re: Battery maintenance
Try these two documents. And look on the pad of the battery post, there is a letter & number stamped such as B6, which = Feb 2016

Re: Battery maintenance
Well I called the dealer and they said they put Trojan 875 batteries in the cart. Also there's a small sticker on them with 6/17..june of 17..so they're pretty new.

Re: Battery maintenance
What is the date code stamped in the pad of the negative post? I have not seen Trojan use stickers before.

Re: Battery maintenance
OK I just checked deeper. According to the online picture it seems that I have Deka batteries. They have the two twist bars to remove the tops. Are they good batteries?
