TXT ticking noice when off
Hi Folks,
My TXT makes a ticking noise after charging? Noise remains with key out and in neutral, no accessories on. Seems to discharge slightly after a four or five days, batteries have water and seem OK but are four-five years old? Any ideas? Thanks, Mike |

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
Lead Acid batteries will discharge slightly on their own normally. Do they hold their charge well? What is your voltage when the charge completes?
You don't happen to have a mechanical clock hanging in the garage near the golf cart, do you?... |

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
No clock. I will run the cart and charge again to check the voltage, it does seem to hold the voltage for the most part although one time it did seem like it died very quickly after the charge.
Thanks! |

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
The cart did discharge about 50% in less than a week. The ticking noise seems to be coming from the high speed motor and is ticking during charging as well as when everything is off. Charging now, will get volt readings when charging is complete.

Well, I hate to tell you this, but your golf cart is a terrorist.

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
The carts batteries read 6.3 or so this morning although the charger shut off overnight sometime. Put the charger back on and they read around 7 volts and climbing. I unplugged the small red wire from the charging receptacle and the clicking stopped immediately? I am charging again with this wire disconnected to see what happens????

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
Small red wire is the reed switch. What kind of cart do you have, Series or PDS?

Re: TXT ticking noice when off
Ok, That Reed switch goes to the controller., it supplies 36v and tells the controller that the charger is unplugged and the Cart can be moved. Reed switch has a little magnet in it which makes the connection, I just don't know why it would cause a tick.
