Default Accessory wiring question

Ok fellas I have another newbie question this time about accessories. So far, I've installed a 36-12V reducer and a 12" LED bar. I have a 6 - fuse block for the positive side and a grounding strip all installed in the cupholder well. Possible future mods are LED strip for overhead lighting and possibly a soundbar. My question is about the LED rocker switches. Right now the switch stays lit all the time I guess because it is being fed a constant 12V from the converter. My cart has a standard on-off key switch...... it possible for me to wire the converter so that it turns on and off with the key? I worry about battery drain from the rocker switch being lit all the time.

Here's the switch I have ---

Which converter do you have? Does it have 5, or 4 wires?

It has 4 wires. 36v +/- in and 12v +/- out

The only way that I would know to do it is to put a toggle switch on the 36v + wire going to the reducer. You could put it close to Where the charge port is so when you plug up the charger you turn off the reducer. Otherwise a new key switch would also work.

I know it's not recommended, but I hooked the 36v input for my reducer to the output of my 2 terminal keyswitch. Just make sure you check the voltages with the key off to make sure you don't put it on the side with constant pack voltage.

Ezgo 4 prong. http://m.ebay.com/itm/EZGO-4-PRONG-K...%257Ciid%253A5

This key switch has B, I, B1, L. B would be 36v in, I is out to controller. B1 can be either 36v or 12v in. L can either be 36v back to reducer, or 12v to the light switch.

What I did, I ran my 36v + from battery pack to B1, then ran L to my reducer.

Ok great. That's exactly what I needed to know. I'd rather do that than add another switch. The key switch seems much easier.

You can wire your toggle switch for the LED bar to only illuminate when it is turned on.

The amazon link you provided it had this wiring image.

If you disconnect power from 6, your switch illumination should go out but you should still be able to turn on/off your Light Bar. IF THAT IS TRUE, then you can wire your switch as shown below and it will only illuminate when your light bar is turned on.

I tried it that way and you are correct but I'd rather all the switches illuminate when I turn on the 4 way key switch though. Thanks for the help
