Default Mechanical Rear Brake Springs

Does anyone have an exact picture of how the third adjustor spring goes in on an EZGO TXT rear mechanical drum? I've got the manual, and am referring to Part #89 on page D-3, which is listed as an adjuster spring. I have the spring installed now by hooking one side to the left side brake shoe and the other side to the little lip that comes off the right side of the brake adjuster, but not getting the correct action, as I'm assuming the star wheel should be moving when the brakes are pumped, as I turned it all the way in on reassembly.

Thanks.

Possibly drums that are already "over worn"? Drum braking surface that is already worn out beyond max often throw off the geometry of what the self-adjusters can do. And your "brand new" brake shoes may also not match the shape of way worn out drums. I always take the cable loose at the brake and manually "ratchet" the lever until the auto adjuster cant rachet any more.

The brakes were working when I bought the cart. i added new brake lines with the lift, and they were not working when i ran the cart. so pulled everything apart, cleaned and now reassembling. Brake pads look good.

The attached pdf should help you with the brakes. It is the complete brake section from the factory service manual.

Perfect thanks! Anyone know the size of those nylon washers that go on the star assembly? I'm missing mine and am sure that Ace Hardware would have some.
