Default How to test to see if 36 volt Ezgo motor is going bad??

How do I test my motor on my cart to see if the motor is going bad or not? I do have a meter. The cart is a 96 Ezgo DCS. I have an all trax controller. Also 2/0 cables. Everything else is stock.

Scottyb, I was hoping you would reply. you always seem to help and figure things out when i have an issue. lol.

I have n alltrax DCX controller I bought from you about 5 yrs ago.
I am not sure if you have seen an earlier post about my buggy. I have been having an issue of When i get on the cart it feels like i am being slightly bumped from behind when i press the gass feed. after a while it takes off to about half speed for about 50 yds. then it goes fine to full speed. then it might be fine for an hour or two. the walla... it does it again. sometimes it helps to give it a push.

The batteries are newer batts. this can happen after a full charge or half charge.

Thanks, Scott

The motors are so easy to pull put, I would just do that and inspect, it will be obvious if there is an issue. Cleaning out all the carbon wont hurt either.

I'm not real familiar with what would be an issue with the motor. What would stand out to me?? What's the best thing to clean the carbon out with?? Brake cleaner???

Worn out brushes. And no harsh chemicals, only compressed air. Do it outside, and stay up wind, it's gonna amaze you how much dust comes out.
