Default Confirming Freedom Mode

Outside of the obvious speed increase from a stock cart to a freedom cart, is there any way for me to verify that my dealer installed this (I do not have a controller I can hook up), and I will be driving the cart today for the first time (it supposedly already has this installed). I didn't drive it prior without it installed.

It is a 3" lifted 2014 RXV with 23x10x14 wheels

Certainly you're not saying they would tell you stories.

I would think they would be willing to hook their programmer up to it and show you it was installed. If they don't have the programmer and they did the Freedom upgrade it is not set at full speed. Either way, 19.5 is top speed on 18" tires so with 23" you should be around 24-25 mph.

Use a portable GPS or phone app. The cart as configured should exceed 25mph on level pavement.

So far I've only been able to get 24.5 mph. Does that sound right or should I be over 25-26?

My cart with a curtis controller and my friends cart with a danaher controller will both do a solid 24mph on 21" tires under optimum conditions. They have been checked by multiple devices so I am confident in the number. Over time other forum members have reported 26-27mph on 23" tires. On a danaher cart the speed upgrade process is one step with a hand held scanner. On a curtis cart the speed upgrade is a two step process involving an electronic "key" and a hand held scanner. The scanner releases the final ~2.5 mph.
Based on your info, I would be suspicious the dealer did the electronic key part which only takes a couple of seconds and requires no skills and not the scanner part which requires an expensive tool and some basic skills.
If yours is a curtis cart the only way I'm aware of to be sure is to hook up the scanner. However, there are a lot of variables starting with the health of the battery pack. You could be fine or there might be an issue.

You could do this to verify. First, stock motor - check. Second, stock controller - check. Third, pull diff cover off to check for high speed gears , here where it gets tricky, look closely at cover before removal for signs if it has been off before, and look at the ring gear for slightly smaller overall diameter compared to stock gear (can be verified by counting input shaft rotations/ per wheel rotations). Speeds above 15mph (stock tires) without HS gears is freedom mode, if controller, motor, and tach sensor magnet are stock. Checking for a stock speed sensor magnet is a tricky one for the end users, but input/wheel revolution check would tell if all oher parts are stock.

I have a 2008 RXV and the dealer showed me that he set it to freedom mode 2 (19.5mph) but on my phone gps it will not go faster then 17mph on stock tires. How do I get the second freedom mode unlocked properly?

You have to get the dealer to set the speed limit of Freedom Mode up to the maximum, otherwise Freedom Mode by default is set to 17.5 MPH.
