Cart No Go
Hey guys,
This is my first cart. It came without batteries. Today I installed the new batteries, but was disappointed when the cart did not go. It is a 2008 Ez go Mtp 800. It's a stock standard 36v system. FR handle below the seat. I did some trouble let shooting, with the key on, switch on Fwd I get nothing when I press the pedal. No click from the solenoid. 37.8v on the battery, lights and horn work. I checked continuity on the FR switch, the brake, and the throttle pedal, all read as working. I put on a new selenoid, but had the same problem. The repair manual said something about having a difference in voltage on big side of the solenoid, but I get the same on new and old solenoid. I'm not sure what to check next, any help would be appreciated. Also here is a pic of the serial Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart No Go
I'm far from an expert but I would suggest you pop the top off the charger receptacle under the seat and see if it has a reed switch. From what I've gathered it's a common failure point on these carts. Mine was already bypassed when I got it. The red wire just connects straight to the white wire in the receptacle.

Re: Cart No Go
Can you tell how it hooks up...is it white to positive battery, and black to negative.

No worries. Hopefully it's a simple fix. If not, there will be plenty of help for you on here. Btw, you need to get it on a charger. Right now you're at about 75% charge according to your voltage reading. You should never let it get below 50% or or will shorten battery life. |

Re: Cart No Go
Got ya, thanks for the heads up. Is it possible that not having the charger port wires in would cause the solenoid not to. Lick?

Re: Cart No Go
Yes & no. While the charger port itself doesn't keep it from running, as Dixie Chopper showed above, that small red wire by the charger port has to transmit battery voltage back to the controller. It's powered from that + (white) wire at the receptical.
