Default Wheel spacers and stability

Just a quick question:
In your opinion, do wheel spacers add any stability to your cart?

Wheel spacers widen the carts stance, so theoretically they do improve stability. User error can overrule any increase in stability. YMMV.
Spacers also add strain to axles and bearings.

Oh good point: I never even thought of spacers adding strain to axles and bearings.
Doesn't sound worth what little extra stability an inch or two would add.

I've had 1" spacers on my TXT for 5 years now. I just installed a Plowman's limited slip, and had to (via brake cleaner) remove all oil from my rear axle's, housing, bearings and the differential unit. The Dana differential and bearings are built like tanks. I was going to replace the bearings while I had it torn down, but they were working well, looked like new, and never make noise.

I put the spaces on in order to mount chains for snow, so the chains would clear the rear springs.

FWIW
