Red face Batteries

I recently bought an extremely nice 2007 Yamaha YDRE that has always been privately owned . The problem is the previous owner replaced the battery pack with deep cycle rv batteries from Napa series 24rvs. They don't do the job for getting around our resort. We have a nine hole golf course and I know it won't make the full 9.
I don't want to spend $1300. For a new set of Trojan T1275 batteries but I can get 27 series deep cycle marine batteries from Walmart for $600.+.
The golf course is relatively flat and there are no hills or long inclines within the resort .
My question (FINALLY) is what are the resonable expectation for service from the Walmart batteries, can you get 18 holes on a single charge?

Do not entertain any deep cycle marine or RV battery no matter if group 24 or 27 as either way they will be short lived, they are simply not meant for deep cycle golf cart use...

I agree with Teecro. Even if the series 27 happen to make it 9 holes they will very quickly begin to degrade. The marine/rv batteries have lead plates that are built differently than golf cart batteries so they won't last.

In addition to Craigslist as someone mentioned, I bought a set of golf cart batteries at Advance Auto. Any battery over 5 months old they take off the showroom floor and put in the back, charge it up and will sell them at $47.50 each. I found a set of 6V golf cart batteries for my buddy that way and I found a set of 8V batteries for myself that way.

The 8V were still on the showroom floor but the date was older than 5 months so I pointed it out to the manager and bought them at $47.50 each.

This was at two different Advance Auto stores in Saint Petersburg, FL. If I remember correctly the guy said it was corporate policy. 3 month warranty too.

Only GOLF CART batteries are engineered and built to take the extreme draw associated with operating an EV.

Shop around 4 T1275 should not cost $1300
