Default 91 electric ezgo marathon

Hello folks, I recently obtained a 1991 ezgo marathon electric 36v golf cart. My question is..it seems to slow down on moderate grades and or won't finish the grade without a running start, seems superb running on flat grade, is this normal? Thanks in advance, Mike

They were desighed for carrying a couple of golfers and golf club bags around a golf course. So yea, pretty normal. If the batteries are a little weak or too old, a minor grade can seem like a mountain to it. Go to www.cartsunlimited.net and read the information provided, so you can decide where the best place to start making improvements would be for your intended use for the cart.

I just got a 93 marathon. It struggles incredibly up hills. I found that the cables are really badly corroded so I am going to clean everything up electrically. I am also upgrading from #6 to #2 cables. I was told that could help alot.
