Default slow txt needs boost !

98 txt.. 36 volt .trojan batteries have very good charge. Is there an inexpensive way to pick up a little more speed ? Can't really afford to put on new motor and controller

Thank You

I too have a 98 TXT...I did the controller and solenoid first, paired with some 2 gauge wires I made from welding wire. gave me a pretty good boost. From there I switched to 48v by adding two 6v batteries. The 36v motor will love having 48v thrown at it and will give you a nice upgrade in speed and torque. you can also add bigger tires to add a few mph but you will lose some torque by doing that. Last thing I did was buy a motor just for the simple fact that I had to feed my addiction to speed.

Bigger diameter tires. And Coors light is gross.

You asked a question and you got the correct answer. "no there isn't" So why get snotty. You may find you have some options, but if you want speed cheap, you will lose out on torque, if you want torque cheap you will lose out on speed. Decide what you want and come back. If you want power and speed then i am afraid that Sir Nuke was spot on.

Just trying to help.

Guys, was that year a series cart?, if so, maybe stuffing two extra batteries will be the cheapest option for him. I only really know the Gas models. elastictricity is not my forte.

Was going to be my question. Can his controller handle 42, or maybe even 48v?

Sorry guys...I was having a bad day. Selling this cart and just wanted to see if I could get a small increase in speed. I installed a new set of 4GA cables and it did the trick. Not a speedster....and not full of torque but pulls decent now.

Grats James!

I'm in southeastern TN, in the NC/TN/GA tri-state region. Gotta love the mountains here.
