Need to know how to adjust brakes on a '94 Marathon

I just replaced the brakes on my '94 Marathon and I'm not able to adjust them. I went underneath and tried but no luck. I just bought the cart which needed a lot of TLC. The brakes shoes were worn out badly and inoperative. Can someone give me instructions on how to adjust them? thanks.

You should have seen the little star type adjuster when you put the shoes on? They are accessible thru a hole in the outside of the drum......pull the wheel....get a flashlight and a couple of flat screwdrivers .....

stick the screwdriver through the hole and work the star adjuster, turn the brake drum with your hand until you feel resistance on the drum.

Thanks for your response, but it doesn't have a star adjuster. I checked the parts book at the EZGO dealer where I bought the brake shoes and it didn't show a star adjuster wheel for that year EZGO cart.

Okay then my mistake......no adjuster ....... no adjustment

Shoe Brakes haven't changed much in 50 years. I did brakes on a 95(?), it had adjusters...Maybe you should start a new post asking if they can be upgraded to adjustable?
