no reverse

My EZ-GO (man code E401, ser#1374714) will not go in reverse. reverse alarm works. I had heat coming from forward reverse switch a few weeks ago.

Heat can be caused by bad connections arching.....or high resistance due to dirty or corroded contacts...I would put the lever in reverse & wiggle or pull on the lever to see if it makes contact and goes.....that doesn't look like the whole man. code?

I use to be able to wiggle the lever to get it to go into reverse that no longer works.
All the connections seem to be tight and the 2 micro switches ohmed out ok. I am a pretty good mechanic but have no knowledge of golfcarts or dc power .

Hi again........ According to the numbers you furnished from your cart, your cart is really a 2001 year model.

I'm with the Gman ...... You said it yourself in the quote above....You have a bad connection.Check to see the cables are tight , if so.... repair or replace the F&R switch
