Default Pack negetive

Is pack negative the negative to the controller? Pack positive the one to the controller? In this case hooking up a 12v reducer. 6 8v.

Yes that is correct. The charger receptacle wires will also go to the pack negative and positive.

Battery Pack mains are easily identified. These are the only 2 battery posts not connected to another battery. Battery Pack Positive (+) goes to the solenoid. Battery Pack Negative (-) goes to the Controller B- terminal.

Put your accessory (12v reducer) connections on top of the main cables. This arrangement insures the biggest draw is closest to the battery terminal base insuring the most contact. This is called priority stacking and should always be observed.
