Removing Dash on RXV
Trying to install a new SOC/voltmeter in my RXV but struggling to remove the dash. I've got the 4 torx bolts out from under the lip but the dash seems to be hung up. I can tilt the dash to gain access but it is very tight and will be hard to get the meter clamp nuts tightened properly. What's the trick?

You'll need to loosen or remove the two side plates above the rocker panels with a T45 torx. There are clips or fasteners on both sides of that dash. Just give it a quick jerk and they will pop out. |

Thanks, usgicollector! Got that side to where I can work with it. About to drill the 1/2" hole for the selector button.

Re: Removing Dash on RXV
I'm wondering if the polarity of the connections to the button matter. The terminals aren't marked but the wires are red & black. I'll need to remove them to do the button install. Sure don't want to make a mistake and fry the controller.

Your doing just fine. Just make sure key is off and in tow mode.

Re: Removing Dash on RXV
All was going smoothly until the fastening nut on the button went missing. Can't reassemble until I find it or replace which couldn't be until tomorrow.

Re: Removing Dash on RXV
If it fell behind the dash, chances are it landed on the flat by the wires or under the cubby

It's amazing where those small pieces hide at times. Well it will be tomorrow before you know it.
