Re: Help!! How do I wire up a voltage reducer on an RXV
You may want to test the converter before committing to it. Those chinese converters are a shot in the dark. Many are dead on arrival, and if you overload it, it will fail pretty quick. Fuse the 48V input (no more than 10A fuse) and connect the + 48V wire to the controller B+ side of the solenoid. The - wire connects to pack - at the battery. On the 12V side, put a fast blow 10A fuse (to protect the converter) and then to a marine fuse block. The other - lead connects to the ground connection at the marine fuse block. Connect your loads to the fuse block. Both - wires are internally bonded on those converters. I would be easy on loading it, they overheat pretty easy. 120 Watts maximum is not a lot of power. Use a lower powered LED light kit, and no big off-road style light bars. Those consume more power than that little converter can handle.

I used a switch and just went from the battery terminals. Use caution messing with the RXV electrical. I had used the solenoid after the switch lever broke. Cart wouldn’t start once. Failed the startup test. Went and got a new switch. All is well.

I also put a 12 volt light on the dash that comes on when the switch is on. Keeps me from forgetting it.

Re: Help!! How do I wire up a voltage reducer on an RXV
I cannot provide what I do not have. If I took any pictures of my 12 VDC Converter installation, they are not in my RXV files. I dismantled that 2012 RXV and used it for parts long ago. All that is left is a damaged frame and a large pile of good usable parts in storage. Others have posted photos of their installations though, so you should be able to find something.
