Default I need help with motor selection

I need a recommendation for the correct motor for my cart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking either the 11.4 or the 13.5 hp. My cart is a 95-96 ezgo txt dcs. 36v with an Alltrax dcx600, running 22 inch tires, may go bigger in the future. Looking at a 48v upgrade as well. Thanks guys.

Admiral MOT-B2 on 48v is a beast off road with good speed on road at a reasonable price.

Not all of the regen motors listed will fit a EZGO DCS. The 11.4HP is for a Club Car (10 Spline) and the 13.5 is for a Yamaha (19 Spline - Same spline as EZGO, but may not fit for another reason)

Select EZGO on D&D home page to get a list for EZGO carts.

Then the question is what do you want from the cart, speed or torque?

With 22" tall tire, you are already losing 18% of the stock torque where rubber meets road, and if you go to a taller tire, you'll lose more, so you might want a motor that produces more than stock torque.

Going to 48V will up both torque and speed by 33%, so that has to be taken into consideration.

In other words there is no single answer without know what the end goal for the cart is.

Also, as Scotty mentioned, the MOT-B2 is another option.

Right now with the dcx (field map 3) and a stock dcs motor I'm steady 20mph and top 24mph on a down hill gradient. I havent installed the rear seat yet and will be hauling kids/hunting supplies around.

Looking for good top end speed, but want plenty of torque for future tire upgrades. I do moderate offroad ie. Hunting and transporting supplies around to camp but I don't want to sacrifice speed while running around town outside of hunting season.

This is a cart that I just built last summer....it's a DCS as well...its running 23" tires, a 500 amp controller, I put the Admiral MOT-B2 motor scotty mentioned in it. AND its 48v......the cart has a back seat as well....it has plenty of torque....and will run 25 mph on flat ground all day long.

I highly recommend it for what you are doing with your cart.

That motor selection chart you posted is for D&D Motors.

I too was overwhelmed with the choices, and decided to call them.

I would recommend that approach, as they also have motors not listed on that chart, the one I bought for example, and can advise you on what you need rather than you ending up with one that's not exactly suited for your purpose.
