1998 Ezgo 36volt TXT Series Cart
I was given this cart last year from my father in law. I replaced all 6 of the 6 volt batteries and cables. When I did it seemed to run just fine for several months. One evening a buddy and I were on it, my foot slipped off the accelerator and when I tried to accelerate again it would not respond. I turned the cart off and shifted the levered Forward/Reverse switch a few times. About 2 minutes later it took off and off we went. It did this a couple other times and always happens when taking foot off of the accelerator.
I just replaced the solenoid, then the controller, and the forward reverse switch (in this order). I removed all the cables from the motor and tested the continuity with volt meter and it tested out fine with no continuity tested between either S1/2 or A1/2. I dont know which way to turn. Possibly ITS? Possible cable issue? Cables appear to be in fine condition. I'd appreciate any help. |

The next time it fails, reach down and pull the pedal all the way up against the mechanical stop. If it runs when pedal is pushed, clean and lubricate the pedal hinge and make sure spring isn't weak or broken.

Well the problem is that now it wont move at all. So i cant check that. I got underneath and the spring looks like its working. Batteries are fully charged and they are over 38.2 volts on the voltmeter.

Re: 1998 Ezgo 36volt TXT Series Cart
Does the solenoid click when pedal is pushed?
If so, push the pedal just far enough to make solenoid click and measure voltage between B- and M- terminals om controller. Ought to be read full battery pack voltage. If it doesn't you have an open in the high current circuit. The first attachment has the high current circuit highlighted. If you do get full pack voltage, press pedal to floor and the voltage ought to decrease to Zero. If it doesn't, either ITS or controller is bad. If solenoid does not click when pedal is pushed, the solenoid activation circuit is highlighted on second attachment. |

Re: 1998 Ezgo 36volt TXT Series Cart
Battery voltage is reading: 38.8 v
Solenoid is clicking When i check voltage without pressing accelerator voltage between B- and M- is 38.10 When i push accelerator just enough so solenoid clicks and measure voltage i get 38.75 and it stays there and does not drop to 0 Quote:

I put pedal to the metal and it didnt go down, i just replaced controller 2 days ago. I feel its the ITS. Can i just replace the sensor or do i need to replace the whole pedal box and everything inside? Id rather just replace a $40-50 part Quote:

There is an in-line connector between pedal box and cart's wiring harness than can cause problems. |

Re: 1998 Ezgo 36volt TXT Series Cart
I got home removed the white clip which plugs into the controller (I assumed i disconnect plug from controller to reach pins). The plug has white, black, orange, and red wires which respectively corresponds to pins 1-4 on the controller.
For test 1 (controller B- to controller pin 2): I turned key on, put it in forward gear pressed accelerator until solenoid clicked and it read 0.15 v For test 2 (controller B- to controller pin 1): I turned key on, put it in forward gear pressed accelerator until solenoid clicked and it read 0v For test 3 (controller B- to controller pin 1):I turned key on, put it in forward gear pressed accelerator to the floor and it read 0v What next? Thanks again for the help |
