Welcome to BGW.

What is the fully charged battery pack voltage and voltage of each individual battery?

Find attached a State of Charge chart that will help you evaluate your new batteries.

Also note that new batteries will require a number of charges to "break in" and fully develop their full capacity ... but they should not start out being "very weak".

What make are your batteries and what is the amp-hr rating?

I can't comment on the burnt smell you have experienced, but that sounds like a major concern. Perhaps other BGW members more familiar with this type of cart can offer some assistance in trouble shooting this problem. Perhaps a few more details on the burnt problem or some photos of what you have found.

At 6 to 6.5 volts you batteries are at 40% to 100% state of charge. It would be best if you could provide the actual battery voltages of all 6 batteries. Chances are that you could have one or more bad batteries.

What make are your batteries and what is the amp-hr rating? How old are the batteries - are there date codes stamped on them?
