Upgrade question FSIP vs Alltrax
So, this summer going to look into upgrading from 36v to 48v and according to one of my previous posts the controller I currently have can handle this. My question is now, other than the ability to customize maps for torque, speed, etc. would getting an Alltrax controller be beneficial?
Current setup Series cart - 6 passenger FSIP controller - 500a Lifted and with larger wheels (sorry at work and can't remember the size) Speeds about 15-16 mph (would like to get over 20 mph) Primary usage will be on neighborhood streets going from house to other friends house and down to the amenity center. Maybe very little use in grass or hill areas. I am looking at the Alltrax SR48500 as a possible replacement to the FSIP, will I see a difference in the controllers? |

Re: Upgrade question FSIP vs Alltrax
Series carts are a different animal than Sepex so the Alltrax really won't help with speed. Going from 36 to 48 will and changing motors would definitely.

Re: Upgrade question FSIP vs Alltrax
This is a hands down no brainer even if the price was not comparable which it is! Even in a series cart... comparing two 500a controls;
1. The Alltrax has higher peak and higher longer sustained output. 570 vs 500 peak. 2. The Alltrax has input and output reverse polarity protection. Worth $500 if the motor shorts out or you drop a wrench during the install. The FSIP has nothing = you are SOL. 3. The Alltrax offers free user programming. FSIP has a couple of set screws. 4. The user programming allows user to adjust acceleration & speed. 5. The Alltrax features built in cooling towers, the FSIP has a heat sink. 6. The Alltrax offers a cooling fan, the FSIP has nothing like this. 7. The Alltrax offers switchable 2 mode or speed regulation on the fly features. The FSIP has nothing like this. 8. The Alltrax offers usre programmable reduced reverse speed, the FSIP has nothing like this 9. The Alltrax has a 2 year warranty that replaces the controller free of charge. FSIP has a 1 yr warranty that is almost always denied. 10. do you really need more reasons? |

Thanks everyone... I actually had been leaning to the Alltrax. Just need to save the pennies now...

11. Alltrax offers native support for many throttle types, including Ezgo ITS. FSIP often needs a stupid fussy little adapter box that craps out if the wind blows too hard/softly.

I've seen FSIP star controllers die in high humidity and the warranty is void That did it for me. And here Nuke are your other 2 reasons |
