Rear end wobbel
When I run my cart, it has a wobble in the rear end, kind of like a flat tire. The tires are fine. I jacked up the back and took the wheels off. When I press down on the accelerator, the right side rotates and the left side sort of rotates or does not move at all. If I put any resistant to it, it does not rotate. If I put resistance on the right side, it continues to rotate. What needs to be fixed?

Re: Rear end wobbel
I am hoping to get some more input from someone on this. When I am at full speed, it feels like I am going over a small speed bump from the rear end. It is very rhythmic, about once a second. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Rear end wobbel
I would rotate the tires back to front and see if the problem moves with the tires/wheels or stay with the rear end.

Re: Rear end wobbel
Many golf cart tires and wheels are poorly made and out of round. ROTATING them to see if the problem moves or goes away is a great suggestion.

Re: Rear end wobbel
Sometimes tires can develop a flat spot(s) when they haven't been used in a while, and since it's cold weather it may take a while for the tires to warm up due to driving, which often solves the problem.
Rotating the tires will definitely tell if the problem moves, but so will a passenger with chalk to mark the rear wheels where the bump occurs. When turning, one tire will cover more distance than the other, making the chalk "move" on tires that aren't the culpret(s). |
