Angry How much damage did I do

I have a 97 EZ-GO TXT 36 volt cart. Pretty sure I put the diode on the solenoid backwards upon reinstalling today. Heard a pop and now I get nothing from the cart. No clicking or beeping. Didn’t see any wires burnt up but who knows about the switches or controller. Any good way to test? I checked that third white wire going to the battery charger port and it is still intact. Thanks!

Chances are what you heard was the diode blowing up. Replace it and make sure its connected correctly and you should be good to go.

My 2 cents worth anyway

Most of the time that results in a fried pedal micro switch. Replace it and you should be fine. It could have damaged something else, that micro switch usually blows like a fuse.

Got my diode in the mail today will try that first. These parts are cheap enough I’ll be willing to throw them at the cart. Anything beyond though I may have to reconsider. Thanks for the reply’s

I have done it a couple of times, and I'd put the micro switch in and roll on. Hopefully that will be your case as well.

Tried the new diode and still nothing. Would it be the pedal micro switch even if there is no backup alarm when shifted into reverse?

It could be your F&R micro switch...time to get out the tester and start checking for power in and out of the micro switches

That's what I've been saying all along. Replace the micro switch. When you reverse the solenoid diode, the first thing that pops is the pedal micro stitch.

If you suddenly have no reverse buzzer, I would go after the Reed switch.

Sorry! Being a good listener was never in my jeans. I put a new microswurch in yesterday and still nothing. Just saw someone replied to try the reed switch. If it’s cheap I’ll do it but parts are starting to add up!
