Replaced the stripped right brake drum about 18 months ago and it is stripped again. Is this a usual problem or should I look for another possible cause
It a 2004 Ezgo TXT 36 volt

Think I’ve read that not torquing down the castle nut properly can be a cause??

We’ll see what the experts say. In the meantime, I do know that a heavy duty replacement is available.

Are you putting heavy torque loads on the cart?

Torque for rear axles is 90ft/lb min and 140ft/lb max. Always tighten more to line up slot in castle nut with cotter pin hole in axle.

Replace stripped hub with a heavy duty hub, or just replace both sides and be done with it.
