Default Electrical or Motor Problem?????

I'm getting my cart ready for the season. My batteries were frozen over the winter. They are good now and I replace the battery cables. I have 36v going to the solenoid. When I step on the gas pedal, I move a couple of inches and then my motor just rocks back & forth/vibrates - like it is locked up. I hope it isn't. Any help?

What makes you think the frozen batteries are good now? Is this a DCS, PDS, or Series cart?

This is a 1998 TXT. This is my first cart. I purchased it last Fall. I thought since the batteries measured 36v that they would be alright. You are thinking I still have a battery problem?

Hello jstrub and Welcome to the forum.

If your batteries just show 36 volts, they are down.

(Check the SEARCH at the top of the page, you may be surprised how small changes in voltages mean a lot.)

When I got to camp last weekend I found 2 of my batteries frozen. Cart charge indicator showed a full charge, meter showed 6.3v on each battery. Cart was VERY sluggish. After 7 years of use, I just bought new ones. Could I have nursed them back to life? Maybe, but we'll never know now....
