Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Got my hands on a 2001 PDS cart from the 2016 flood. The owner couldn’t get it to run after the flood so he took the batteries out and left it sitting in his yard.
I put brand new batteries in it. Voltage is 38.2. There is a good bit of corrosion on the solenoid connections and the resistor is so corroded that it broke off. I know I need to replace that first and I ordered one. What is that resistor for and do I need it for troubleshooting? Solenoid not clicking. As of now, I am going to clean all connections today and see what happens. Thanks for any help. |

Re: Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
I'm not an electric cart expert, but I'd consider 100% rewire. Everything is relatively easy to get to.
What's the condition of the drive motor? Seems likely it'll require some attention, or replacement. |

Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Thanks chilly. Yeah that’s a good idea especially now while I have the body off. I’m probably going to sell this one so trying to keep costs down.
Forgot to mention that I pulled the motor and changed the bearing because it was noisy. Motor is good I checked it with a 12 volt battery. |

Re: Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Ok I found a resistor and installed it.
Here is where I’m at - Good voltage on both sides of the solenoid. I tested the ITS and the white wire reads 1.88 volts and does not change when I press the pedal in forward. According to the manual, it is bad, correct? |

Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Haven’t done that yet. Update - I had a spare working controller so I went ahead and swapped it out. Got the reverse beep , solenoid clicked and cart moved. I backed it out of the garage for a test drive and it went about 20 feet and stopped. Now it barely moves for a second then stops. I put my meter on the controller side of the solenoid and tested the pedal. 38.0v with no pedal then it drops off to 20-23v when I push the pedal and the solenoid clicks |

Re: Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Bump...... Anyone else have any suggestions as to why the voltage from the solenoid to the controller would be dropping once the solenoid engages? Bad solenoid? Help

Re: Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it
Not the EZ-GO troubleshooting guy. But you probably should replace that solenoid anyway. Could be bad.
Did the resistor get hot? |
