1995 Ezgo 36v non-Medalist
I have had the batteries on it for 5 years and are still good. Each check 6.4 to 6.8 volts. The pack reads 40.+. I have read them with 3 dvms all say 40.+ volts. Big lugs on both sides of solenoid read 40.+ volts. Keeps blowing my solenoid and don't know what else it's blown as of now after putting on another solenoid. What causes me to be getting 40 volts out of six 6 volt batteries. Thank you.

yes it has a resister. I have put 2 solenoids on and they stop clicking after 6 to 8 times.

Re: 1995 Ezgo 36v non-Medalist
evan though the motor would work I pulled it any way and found that brush wires insulation was slid back and 2 wires wires were hitting against brush springs and couple other places, I suppose when I hit the right size bump. Didn't do enough damage that wasn't repairable. The electrical tape I put on the wires might melt off tho. For some reason the commutator had about 8 groves cut down 1/16 inch deep. I filed them down to smooth, yes I'm sure not a perfect circle but it works so far and not much commutator depth left. Don't know, but maybe the motor shorting was sparking the solenoid in a feed back somehow, might not be possible but I've seen weirder things happen. Thanks for all your help, but believe me I'll be back because I have 2 Ezgos, a 1995 and a 1996 and a 2005 Yamaha g22.
