Default Rxv gear vs tire size questions

I am in the process of purchasing a 2011 EZGO RXV today.
It has brand new Trojan 12 volt batteries just recently installed.
it's on 12 inch low profile rims and tires.
From what I have read the 2011 cart still use the Dahmer controller?
And the owner told me it's already set to its max speed I'm guessing 19.5 mph?
I'm definitely not interested in lifting the car and running bigger tires so my question is???????
What size high speed gear would you guys recommend?
I see most people with a lift and 23 inch tires are running 26-28 mph
I'm looking for 30-35 mph! How bad will the low end torque suffer? and how well will the controller hold up?

High speed gear not recommended for these RXV's. You going to need a Curtis controller and programmed to your speed you want. Bob Boyce in the person for this where are you located?

I have seen quite a few people with high-speed gears in all different year carts

You're wasting your time... He's seen all years of carts with high speed gears, so to him the RXV is just another cart. Let him find out the hard way, like everyone else that has done this to an RXV. Maybe you'll be able to sell him a replacement controller after he kills his Danaher

Maybe the whole reason I made the post on here is because I'm looking for some advice?
I'm just simply asking why I see all different years of RXV that have high-speed gears and I don't see any follow-up reviews or long-term reports?
I just can't see how changing the gear ratio a little bit is going to be any different than lifting it up and putting 23 inch tall tires on the same cart?

Anyhow I just purchased the card and after test-driving it I'm actually very pleased with how fast it is.
I honestly don't really see the need for high-speed gears or a bigger controller just yet. Do any of you guys know how big I can go as far as a 14 inch wheel and tire without lifting the cart? I'm wanting to stay with low profile tires

If you've read the RXV braking problem, that is what happens when you go to 23 inch tires, or change to high speed gears. Changing the gears a little, like going to 14.99:1 2Five gears is fine, or just going to 20.5" max on tire size... but not both. Once you go outside of the design range of the motor speed sensor calibration, the cart control system behaves badly. If you recalibrate the speed sensor to improve speed regulation, you lose your top speed gained by going with larger tires or changing the gears. Can you go 30-35 MPH? Yes. Can you do this with a stock Danaher controller? No. The Danaher is internally current limited by its design. A stock 235 Amp Curtis controller can be programmed to do it, barely. Just ask Notocer. I programmed his to do it. But to get good accelleration, proper braking performance, and a good ride at that speed, is not going to be easy. The steering and suspension is designed for speeds of under 20 MPH. There is a lot of slop in the front steering travel that should be worked out by using tighter tolerance bushings and pins. Increased braking to compensate for increased speed can be programmed. It's a delicate balance of programming that few have the equipment or experience to do. I'm not trying to dissuade you, I just want you to be prepared for what will be required to do it right.

The quickest and likely the most expensive would be to lift and upgrade your RXV to 25" tires and convert from the Danaher to a 350 Amp Curtis Upgrade controller. That can put over 1000 Amps of combined 3 phase power to the AC motor to get you up to speed quick. The VCL in that controller has a bit wider range, as it was designed to work with larger tires. It'll still take some programming to get the brakes to match the speed, but at least your controller won't burn out from the increased loading. With the lower powered controllers, it's a matter of careful tuning of the programming to get it to work well. It'll not have as much accell as the 350 Amp controller, but it'll be drivable. Hill climbing ability at speed, not as good of course.

Gratz! Yes, you can go with a tire up to 20.5" without a lift kit. You may have to trim some inner wheel well plastic if your springs have sagged or you carry more weight than the cart is designed for. Lifting the cart will raise the center of gravity, increasing instability at speed.
