Default 1999 Ezgo txt series cart (slow)

Cart only goes 6mph

Brand new batteries
4 gauge new cables

Where do I start? Without just buying parts

1. did it go the same speed BEFORE you put in the new batteries?
2. had you done any other maintenance on the drive system when you replaced the batteries?
3. ensure all cables are properly tight.
4. what is the SOC of your batteries?

Slow series carts from all manufactures top the list for performance complaints.
36v is an obsolete operating voltage. No company makes a 36v cart today.
The best improvement in speed and power would be seen by increasing the operating voltage to 48v. Increasing the operating voltage will induce the stock motor to produce 33% more torque (power) and rpms (speed). The cart will need a 48v speed controller, solenoid, charger, and batteries. Six 8v batteries are the best 48v battery configuration. They fit the 6v battery trays. In the case where new 6v have been installed the battery dealer may exchange for 6/8v or you may add 2/6v to the rear of the cart.
