Default Raising a 1997 txt front end

I recently purchased a set of tires and wheels for my 1997 txt. They have 12" rims and the tires are 215 50 with an overall height of 20". They were advertised as being able to fit the cart without a lift kit. Needless to say there is not much clearance and if 2 people are in the cart the tires rub. A golf cart dealer told me that I could put heavy duty springs and longer shackles and should be able to get the desired clearance. I will put them on this week and see what happens. I need to do something to get a little more clearance on the front end as the tires rub if I turn too sharply. I was wondering if I could put a spacer block under the front leaf springs where they mount to the frame and if I can how much height could I gain without having to do something to the steering linkage and shock absorbers?

I put new wheels and tires are on my TXT. The new ones were total 20'' tall. With the stock spring I couldn't really turn without rubbing. I put on the heavy duty shocks in the front which is a coil over shock. This raised the front substantially. Wheels now clear just fine. I'll probably get another set of stock leafs for the front because the that are on it must have been flattened out.
