Slow Cart
Hi all..long time since I have posted.
I have a 2008 EZGO 36v PDS cart with 2011 Trojan batteries. Everything is stock in reference to tires, motor, controller. Battery terminals are clean. I put it on an overnight charge and my voltmeter shows 36.2 v. Driving on a flat surface, it runs well, but when it comes to a hill, it slows down to a crawl. What should I check for? |

Re: Slow Cart
Write a check for a new set of batteries.

Re: Slow Cart
Yup, likely batteries. They're 7 years old so you did pretty good.
A six pack of T-105s are $619 and Crown CR-235s are $599 over here on the southwest side of Atlanta for comparison shopping. |

Re: Slow Cart
Thanks Kernal...
I went out this afternoon and cleaned all the battery cables and tested the batteries with my voltmeter. I have 5 Trojans batteries reading at 6.2v and 1 replacement battery reading 1.9v. could that be the major cause of slow going uphill? |

Re: Slow Cart
Yup, Always best to have all batteries the same age and capacity. But depending on your use, replacing that bad battery may fix you up.

Re: Slow Cart
so, I charged up the pack overnight and just tested all batteries again. The 5 Trojans 605 were 6.4 and the 1 replacement Interstate battery was at 6.3. I rode it around a few minutes, up some hills, etc and came back and tested it. Still at 6.3.
Will check again this afternoon and see what they are reading after sitting a few hours |

Re: Slow Cart
Give it some back to back charges. Bring the low battery up separately with an auto charger if necessary. Don't need to disconnect cables. I'm pessimistic but ya never know.
The batteries aren't actually DONE until they no longer take you where you want to go. |

If this one loses voltage over today and tonight, I may try that route. |

Re: Slow Cart
Probably a bandaid over a gunshot, but I hope it works out in your favor.
