Key reset required to get cart moving
My 2002 TXT PDS cart has an intermittent electrical issue. Everything will be operating as it should, stop the cart for a couple minutes and when you get back in to move and step on accelerator pedal you get nothing. Turn the key switch off, wait a couple seconds, turn it back on and everything is great again. On the suggestion of the tech guy at Buggies Unlimited I have replaced both the key switch and the micro switch in the pedal box with no change in condition. I am kind of at a loss for what to change next, since it happens on the golf course I cannot trouble shoot it on the course. I am also a little confused as to how a mechanical switch would cause an intermittent problem, except if there was a loose connection, and there was not. What would make sense to me is an electronic component possibly being intermittent. Is this a controller problem or is something else going on?

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
Put it in diagnostic mode and see what beep code it kicks out.

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
Will you get a fault code even if everything is working or are you suggesting diagnostic mode at the point of failure?

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
Put it in diagnostic mode and leave it there when your cart has a fault it will beep the code out to you. It tells you what is wrong.

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
Thanks I will do that. Did not know you could leave it in diagnostic mode long term. Anything to be aware of running in diagnostic mode? Safety issues or potential to damage anything?

No problem running in diagnostic mode. Why would you leave it in diagnostic mode with nothing wrong?

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
It is an intermittent problem. I might golf 2 holes or 27 before it pops up with the problem. That is what I was asking when I said will you get a fault code when it is running correctly or does it need to be put in diagnostic mode at the point of failure. If I put it in diagnostic mode at the point of failure, when i turn the key switch off N to R 5 time and key back on, it will reset and run as it should.

Re: Key reset required to get cart moving
You need to run your cart in diagnostic mode in order to get the fault. Once found and repaired go to tow and back to run and you won't be in diagnostic mode anymore.
