Batteries not using water?
I have a 48v txt with six 8v black box batteries and a DPI charger. I have been using these batteries for almost a solid year and the water level just doesn’t seem to be going down. I drive prob 20 miles a week give or take, i used the cart all winter long too. This doesn’t seem normal to me.

Re: Batteries not using water?
Batteries aren’t supposed to “use “water. The main culprit of water disappearing is intense heat so that it evaporates. I have some sets of batteries I have never had to fill.

Re: Batteries not using water?
Keeping the charge voltage max at 57-58v will prevent electrolysis of the cells. At least one poster mentioned DPI. That charger will not overcharge your batteries. On the other hand sulfuric acid will barely evaporate at all and will actually pull water from the air.

Similar experience. Crown CR190s started their 5th year in Feb. On a DPI gen3 since new. Very little water use.

Re: Batteries not using water?
Keep them charged! I’ve seen neglected batteries that are dry. (As we all have) A charged cell is electrolyte acid and not just flat water, making it slower to evaporate and slower to sulfate also, preserving the battery.

Re: Batteries not using water?
If your batteries AREN'T using water...and still charging and work fine....don't worry about it. Just continue to check them about once a week and carry on!

Batteries not using water?
I leave it hooked up all the time, if I drive it a mile I come back and hook it up until the next time. It stays at 58v all the time while on charger..Love my DPI charger
