Default RXV-E, no power to read my handheld

I have a 2008 EZGO RXV electric golf cart that suddenly stopped running. Pulled the plug under the dash and hooked my hand held programmer to it and it doesn't have any power to light it up. Battery pack is at 50.8 volts. Checked all connections and they are tight. Has a new electric brake, solenoid and key switch. Is it the controller or you think it's another problem. Thanks in advance.

Check the fuse that feeds power to the keyswitch. Remove the plastic cover (that the run/tow switch is in) and look under the cap that is not labelled #1, #2, #3, or #4. On a 2008 there should only be one. It should be a 7.5A automotive style blade fuse. You can use a 10A fuse there if you need to.

The most common issue with the 2008 RXV (besides motor brake) is corrosion inside of the wiring harness, at the splice conections. Power (both 48V and 5V) and ground connections are notorious for that issue. They were not weatherproofed on the 2008. Before you begin, take plenty of pictures so you can see how to put it back together.

Untape the split loom joints and remove the harness from the split loom sections, untape and check all splices. It's best to redo and solder all splices, then cover with heat shrink tubing. tape it up and put the harness back into the split loom and retape.
