1988 (EZ-GO) Western Golf Cart Help
I am new to this site and am looking for some help. I have inherited a 1988 EZ-Go golf cart, Western, and am in need of some help. Cosmetically it is very nice. All the batteries are shot as well as the motor and I am starting to work on it. I don't know much, if anything, about golf carts. It currently has 7, 6 volt batteries, motor is a Model #5BC48JB833, 36V, RPM2800, HP2, TIME RATING 60 MIN, MAX SAFE RPM 8000, WOUND SERIES, INS CLASS B. The controller is a Curtis PMC DC Motor Contoller. Model #1204-009, Voltage 24-36V, Serial #83300 and Current 275 amps. My question is this. If I put 7 new batteries into it and replace the motor with a similar stock one (I also got another cart with a good motor that I plan on swapping to this one) will it be ok with the controller and solenoid that is on it? The solenoid is also stock. I am assuming that the battery cables and other cables are stock. Thanks for your help!!!!
