Default Voltage reducer problem

First off, big thanks to ScottyB for taking care of me. I will never buy from anyone else. The support after the sale is unmatched. Figured I'd put this one on the forum.
Anyway, after going to 48V recently my El-cheapo voltage reducer didn't last long and burned up after only a few days. I installed ScottyB's voltage reducer a few weeks ago but now I am having a weird problem with it. I have it wired like Scotty's drawing shows, green wire is powered from the outlet of the key switch. It was working fine for a while then yesterday I noticed that my rocker switched were illuminated with the key off. Tried my accessories, they all work with key off which is not right. Turn key on, everything works as it should.
Here's the weird part - With the key off I happened to hit the accelerator and the reducer is clicking and the switch backlights are blinking on and off with it. I was thinking maybe something is backfeeding from the controller side because I am tied into the same wire that feeds the controller from the keyswitch. Anyone seen anything like this?

Edit - I'm thinking about putting it on a separate toggle switch as a possible solution although it's not ideal to me......

Default Re: Voltage reducer problem

When something electrical works as intended for a few days then changes how it works the problem is usually that some connection is bad, loose, or wires moved, became disconnected, touching each other, or something like that...

Time to revisit the entire 5 wire converter connections. If they all check out start pulling fuses to eliminate an accessory back feeding problem.
