txt starts good but dies out quickly/ part 2
I just can't figure this out, my carts batteries read 37 to 38.25 volts after a charge, we ride on it for a half hour to an hour approximately and it acts as though the batteries are dying out , then it starts bucking and then stops. When I put the multi tester on it the batteries still read 37 to 38 volts.is there a way to check the speed controller on it? that has been suggested. I don't know where to start looking. thanks in advance for any help.

Re: txt starts good but dies out quickly/ part 2
This thread got kinda sidetracked by the desulfation talk (interesting btw).
I don’t think you ever mentioned which drive type you have. I’m not one of the guys to help you, but maybe you want to test each battery under load. Post those results and the drive type. Read through posts by johnnieb. He posts a lot and is always walking guys through troubleshooting steps. Your cart works at times, so the wiring must be correct, right? It would seem that you have a bad battery somewhere; a poor connection somewhere that causes problems after heating up a bit; or your controller is getting hot. All of the above complete guesses by a rookie, btw. Good luck. |

Attach your meter to a battery and drive the cart up a good hill. Do that for each battery.
Have you checked under the seat when the problem starts? Anything hot? |

Re: txt starts good but dies out quickly/ part 2
so, I took this to a hill and put the meter on it, a couple batteries dipped into the low to mid 4s and when I put the meter on the pack it was running 22 to 28 volts, nothing appeared to be hot but I didn't have the controller uncovered so im not sure about it.

Re: txt starts good but dies out quickly/ part 2
ok, here I go, yesterday I replaced the battery cables and charged the battery pack we used the cart and it ran out of power and limped back to the house, I charged it overnight and got ready to run it this afternoon and backed it out of the garage, when I put it in forward it chugged like it has before, then it made a loud pop almost like a shot, and one of the batteries was smoking. I checked it later and it only read 3 volts. I tried to move it into the garage and another loud pop, more smoke, the speed controller was also smoking, im thinking a short, any thoughts out there?
