The D&D 170-502-0001 is a high torque replacement for the DE2-4007.

That motor will work okay with stock controller, but will work better with an aftermarket controller.

Re: 2003 EZGO TXT- 6 seater- Motor Replacement
Now we have the new motor installed and notice that the speed sensor on the new motor has a triangular quick disconnect and the old one is wired directly to the controller...Is there a wire harness I need to get? Or do I take the silver end cap off the old motor and put on the new motor? Or neither of those. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: 2003 EZGO TXT- 6 seater- Motor Replacement
The connector that comes from the controller has three wires (red, black, and white). The speed sensor on the new motor has three (red, black, and green). I connected the red to red, black to black, and white to green. Once I put everything back together and charged the batteries the cart does not go forward or reverse. I tested the battery voltage and the pack is reading 39.7 volts. I tested each battery and they range from 6.54 to 6.58 volts. When I push the pedal in I can hear the solenoid on the controller clicking when in forward but no movement. When in reverse I push the pedal and all I get is the reverse buzzer and the solenoid on the controller clicking and no movement.
I also noticed that when I plugged it in last night to charge the cart read that it was 3/4 charged. I left it charging all night and when I cam out today the charger was still on/charging/buzzing. The cart itself now says its 100% charged but the charger is still on/charging/buzzing. In the past the charger normally shuts off automatically. Any Ideas or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Charged all night and still charging but only shows 39.7V ? Batteries might be toast. Harbor freight sells a decent little load tester for $20. What kind of charger are you using? A 36V charger will get up to 46 volts sometimes during the bulk charge then back down and shut off.

Re: 2003 EZGO TXT- 6 seater- Motor Replacement
The voltage readings that I gave were when the charger was disconnected from the cart.
Is there any to check the motor directly to see if it's bad? Sorry, just frustrated it's all not working at once. Appreciate the help. |
