Finding EZGO year/manufacturer number

Hi my husband and I just bought a golf cart from someone today and now we are trying to get everything together to get lights and blinkers installed so we can get insurance and it registered through our city but we cannot find a year or manufacturer number. It is a electric EZGO, and i think we might of found a serial number but when I search it via their website the golf cart doesnt show up.. I also found some hand written numbers but they dont come up with anything on their site. I emailed EZGO with the information we have found and I of course do not expect to hear anything back today but I was just wondering in the mean time if anyone else had some insight ?!

Mine has a plate in the glove box that has two numbers. The long one is serial numbers and short is model. On the short th last two are the year, ie 99=1999. Also look in the sticky’s for “guide to tell if ezgo is series or sepex”.

Ezgo has Marathons, Medalists, TXT and RXVs in their lineup. The first had a squared metal body. Won’t be an exact number but look for a sticker on the motor for a year. It should be close. Also check the steering column where it bolts to the floor. 3 bolts usually are 2001 and older. 4 bolts are newer.

I was able to find my serial number stamped on the frame. Lift your seat. Look at the cross brace on the frame the rear supports attach to, above the batteries. Check the side behind the drivers seat.

I am having the same problem. I found the serial number on the cross member behind the seat. I looked it up on the EZ GO site and it confirmed it is a 2008 electric cart. The insurance company wants a VIN #. I’m guessing this would be the manufacture’s number??? There is no plaque in the glove compartment. Is there any other place the Manufacturer number is listed/stamped?

There is no 17 digit VIN number on a golf cart unless it was built as an LSV/NEV . Some states have a pathway to get a VIN for a golf cart, Fla and AZ come to mind. I have seen some companies advertising the ability to get a VIN. I think it was somewhere in the Carolinas but can't remember for sure. I don't know how they can do it legally but if nobody's checking......

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured they did not have a VIN unless street legal.

For insurance you should be able to give them the number stamped in the frame. That is the serial for the cart.
