2015 TXT48 squeak
I recently bought a 2015 EZGO TXT48. It has 20" knobby tires and an EZgo mid lift. When going VERY slowly (we do this a lot) it will produce a very loud very high pitched squeak. Seems to only do this when you crest a small knoll and it begins to coast slightly faster than the very slow pace I am moving. The cart was doing this before the lift, but I am unsure if it was going on before the tires. I tried tightening the axle nuts to 90lbs, and then tighter until the cotter pin would line up, it did not help much if any. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance. Jason |

Total stab in the dark by a novice, but your breaks aren't dragging, right?

Re: 2015 TXT48 squeak
Where is this "squeak" coming from? Sounds like a suspension/steering/body issue to me.

Re: 2015 TXT48 squeak
Squeek seems to be coming from the rear axle. I dont think its suspension related as it will do it with any load situation, and on smooth concrete although not as readily. I think it may be brake related, although I didnt think so at first. What leads me to that is if you lock the parking brake, and then release them with the go pedal and DO NOT touch them again sometimes it seems to NOT squeak until you have touched the brakes. I may pull the hubs and check them for a ridge as well as put new pads on. May put the hubs in my lathe and true them to the axle center. Well do my best to get a look at it this weekend if it rains. I hope its not a normal sound from the motor, I would really hate to hear I should have bought a
different model/brand. I cant believe that they would have a design that makes a loud squeak when you travel slowly, but maybe so. Thanks for all the help. Jason |

Re: 2015 TXT48 squeak
I have a txt48 and I do not have a squeak. The only issue I have at the moment are some bum batteries. I'm wondering if your brakes are having an issue or if there is some issue with the hub not being fully seated. Good luck and let us know what you find.
