Default Ezgo TXT 1206 Controller M-

Hey Guys I need some help with my Ezgo TXT 36V. I have installed new batteries, 1206 controller and replaced the bad micro switch. When I press the pedal the solenoid clicks but wont go forward or reverse. The only way I can get the electric motor to run is when I connect M- on the controller to the Negative terminal of the battery. Thanks in advance and any suggestions you may have would greatly be appreciated.

I'm taking this is a series cart. Is there a cable wired to the B- on the controller going to the main negative on battery pack?

Yes it is a series cart, and yes the B- on the controller is going to the main negative on the battery pack.

The controller internally connects m- to b-. Either you have a bad controller or the controller control circuit is not getting a correct input.

I would check the throttle signal.

I replaced the throttle sensor but still wont run unless the M- on controller the controller is connected to the - negative battery pack. The cart will run hook up like that the only thing is its full throttle even when u barely touch the pedal in both forward and reverse.

That B- to M- is totally bypassing the controller high amp circuit, so it's not helping much for diagnosis. The controller moderates the motor's access to B-, that's how the system works. So, supplying B- to M- only defeats the whole point of a controller.

My guess is a bad controller, but I will defer to the opinions of the experts here as to what steps to verify that

I installed a new controller and solenoid but had the same results as the old one.

I think that controller only has 3 control inputs, Throttle, Keyswitch, and F/R microswitches. I am not sure which of those inputs to that controller are critical for it to operate, but seems like you have already eliminated the throttle, so that leaves Key and Microswitches.

A Curtis 1206 series drive controller has three control inputs, Red wire from pedal switch (Powers up the controller), Orange wire from MS-4 (Reverse switch on F/R assembly - Puts controller in 1/2 speed) and Black & White wires from ITS sensor in Pedal box.

With M- jumped to B-Cart runs at full speed when pedal is pushed in both forward and reverse. That effectively eliminates everything except the controller and ITS.

The controller and ITS sensor have been replaced, that leaves the wiring between the controller and ITS sensor.

Check the ITS voltages.
